What is Dialog?
With Dialog speech and language therapists can create and share individualized home-based exercises with aphasia patients. We use language technology to provide speech-based exercises. Our goal is to provide patients with a sufficient amount of varying and effective practice outside of the actual speech therapy sessions. In addition, Dialog allows real-time monitoring of patient progress throughout the patient relationship.
Why?
Reduced quality of lifeAphasia is a neurological disorder that affects one’s ability to speak, write, or understand language. It is usually the result of a stroke or brain injury. Aphasia has a significant impact on the patient’s quality of life because it makes communication, and hence functioning in every day life, difficult.

Limited resources availableCurrent research points to the effectiveness of intensive rehabilitation for regaining impaired or lost speech and language skills. Despite the clear evidence of the benefits of intensive care, the time and resources of speech and language therapists are limited. With current practices patients rarely have the opportunity to receive an optimal amount of rehabilitative training. There is no uniform format for conducting home-based exercises that are often necessary to achieve such intensity.
